The Home Opener
It was amazing seeing so many fans at Les Bois Park for the AC Boise Fan Fest. For something that wasn't even a match, the number of people in the stadium dwarfed some of the crowds for other USL teams. And of course, the River Guard was out there in big numbers too. More and more people are seeing what we do and who we are, and they're excited to join us in support of the club.
Since Boise announced we were getting a pro soccer team way back in October 2024, we've all been coming together, waiting and working for this week. The time has come, and football is finally here. AC Boise plays their first home game on Saturday, and we can pack the stands even more to sing, chant, and scream together as we cheer on our club.
To make it all even better, our first-ever home opener is against our closest regional rivals, Spokane something-or-other. They must be taking our match seriously, because they were clearly studying our highlights last week instead of training for their 4-0 loss to Carolina! And it turns out, they also wrote a little song to sing for us on match day; how sweet.
Let's show Spokane, and all of USL, a whole new world when they experience a stadium full of over 7,000 Boise fans shaking the pitch. The River Guard is excited to be right there on day one, singing with every last one of you. We're ready.
Whether you’re wearing River Guard or AC Boise swag this Saturday, or you just throw on an old black t-shirt to match the occasion, you have a place with us. And we — Boise, the Treasure Valley, all of Idaho — now have a true home for soccer.
Athletic Club Boise. Les Bois Park.
Let’s come home.
