Always Forward
Our time, our club
Footsteps begin quiet outside Brown Beard Brewing on Chinden Blvd. Just two or three pairs at first. Then ten. Then fifteen. Before long the sidewalk is alive, hundreds strong, shoes pounding concrete like a heartbeat waking up the valley.
Thunderstorms aren’t in the forecast this April in the late afternoon…but the air was thick with electricity. A mob of green and black rolls forward, sharp flashes of vibrant purple slicing through. Every jersey, shirt, hoodie bears the same crest: Boise.
In a city that already supports blue and orange for its Broncos, something fierce and new has been carved out. Athletic Club Boise. Idaho’s first professional soccer club. Men who’ve come from Ukraine, Senegal, Cameroon, England, Brazil and right here from our city. Now training, grinding, and working together under head coach Nate Miller. One mission burns in their eyes: etch Boise onto the professional map for the entire country to see.
You can still cheer for the Broncos. You can still pack the stands for the Steelheads and Hawks. But now the Treasure Valley has something sleeker, faster, more alive. Ninety minutes of pure passion and spirit where the songs never stop, the drums never quit, and the banter flies no matter the score!
The Sound of History being born
The journey ignited on the road. A gritty 1-0 victory in Sarasota—Denys Kostyshyn’s strike lighting the fuse. Then a bruising 3-2 defeat in Omaha where the fire truly sparked: crispy passes, fiery shots on goal, and my man, Jake Dengler anchoring the back line like a wall of iron, commanding presence on the pitch.
Then came April 4th…and the valley held its breath. From Brown Beard, the march exploded. Green and purple smoke curled low over the river as drums hammered and voices lifted. “AC!!!!” Hundreds of feet became one unstoppable river of people flowing toward the stadium, “BOISE!!!”, teachers beside real estate agents, “AC!!!”, next to city workers, parents, “BOISE!!!!” grandparents, and children next servicemen, “AC!!!”, tíos and abuelos, “BOISE!!!”, all marching as one. “AC!!!…BOISE!!!!”. The chant rolled like thunder across the valley floor.
That night the supporters flooded the stands in record-shattering numbers. 7,211 souls packed into the new Athletic Club Boise Soccer Stadium with the River Guard at the helm with 200 plus members at Expo Idaho. Children on shoulders, grandparents waving scarves, families who’d never stood together like this before. When Nick Moon smashed home the rebound off the saved penalty in the 51st minute, the roar that erupted wasn’t just noise.
It was the sound of history being born. That roar shook the stadium. It shook the valley. It shook something deep inside every single person there. This isn’t just a football club. This is a movement. A force pulling every corner of the Treasure Valley together, different lives, different stories, one unbreakable heartbeat pulsing in the stands and on the pitch.
This is Our moment
I’m damn proud of Boise. I’m damn proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder in the River Guard. And I’m damn proud to be standing right next to you.
History isn’t coming. It’s happening right now in every chant, every drumbeat, every green-and-black jersey soaked in sweat and hope. Mark your calendar for the next home match. Bring your voice. Bring your banner. Bring everything you’ve got!
The boys are hungry. The stands are electric. The Treasure Valley is finally awake. This is our time. This is our club. This is our moment.
AC!!! BOISE!!!! ️
Always Forward. Let’s make the next one even louder.
